Lilly Barnes lay sprawled out inside the back seat of the silver Ford Concentrate. Her father Mark sat concentrating on the windy road in front of them in the drivers seat in front of her. Lilly pulled her feet up close to her chin as she looked out the side window. She saw out of the corner of her eye her dad looking at her, but she poked her tongue out at him and turned away.

They had left her home earlier that week. It had been each day full of goodbyes. All her buddies came to the Airport and promised to text and e-mail when they returned to their houses. It had been four days, and Lilly hadn’t gotten 1 text. Not that she genuinely expected 1; she was going to Europe, betraying her beautiful residence country. She got into a much more comfy position and checked her telephone: No new messages. ?Fantastic.?

They’d been driving for nearly twenty hours now. Lilly had been bored from the start. Mark intended on acquiring there as soon as feasible, and in that aspect Lilly agreed. She just wished she hadn’t packed her iPod so far down in her bag. The best thing for her now could be songs from one of the bands she’d come to love and would probably never see once again live. It was a really lengthy time ahead of she went to sleep, a dreamless vortex of meaningless words from her old life, her so-called ?meaningless’ life she’d just left.

When she woke, the auto was still moving. It was comparatively dark, but that could mean something. She craned her head up to look out the window as a sign zoomed past.
?You are now entering Ireland.? At least they spoke English exactly where they had been going, Lilly believed gloomily.

“We’re nearly there Lilly!” Mark told her excitedly, trying to make her pleased. She shrugged in reply.
“It will all be prepared when we get there,” He tried once again, “Aren’t you excited?” Lilly looked at him.

“Mm, I’m so happy,” She said sarcastically. Mark had gone to Ireland before, he’d gone to look in the home, after which ultimately went again to move all their furniture, even though Lilly stayed with her Grandparents. There was no going back.

Lilly was happy to get out of the automobile, her legs had been cramped. Their new house was extremely fairly she had to admit. It was an old residence, but it had been completed up lately so it did not appear it’s real age.

There was a tiny garden in the front of the home, along with a large 1 at the back, including a herb/vegetable garden and a (what much better be heated) swimming pool. As soon as Mark had opened the door, she was down the hall and up the stairs to her new room. He’d shown her floor plans of the home earlier on, so she already knew the house in a way. Mark tried to follow her up, but the door slammed prior to he could speak to her.

The subsequent day, Lilly was walking along her road. There were two reasons for this, 1: She hadn’t accomplished this before and wanted some fresh air, and two: There was a residence subsequent door that interested her. She had yet to meet her neighbor(s); they hadn’t come out to meet them.

She was finishing her fourth round of the one-way street, when the door of the neighbor?s house moved. She was caught by surprise, and stepped back hurriedly. Stepped back into the gutter and slipped, pushing her ankle into an uncomfortable position. She felt tears nicely up, along with the neighbors were forgotten.

“Are you ok?” An individual asked, and Lilly looked up, startled. It was a man, really early 20s most likely. He had medium length oak brown hair, and it formed natural ringlets. He was slightly tan, but far more on the pale side. He was wearing a shirt and tight jeans, and did not look too happy to be outside, he was a bit flustered. But he had his hand out, intending to help her up, so she politely took it.

“Yeah, thank you, I’m fine, I just slipped,” She replied when she was on her feet again. He smiled. He was quite tall.
“That’s good to know. My name’s Jon,” He stated to her, “Hey, do you need to come about to my place sometime? It’s been a while since I’ve observed someone new here. We’re neighbors you know.” He smiled once again in a slightly cheeky way, it made Lilly get butterflies in her stomach, but she liked it.

“That would be good, everybody here seems to be either away on holiday or ignoring me,” She laughed, “Oh, how rude of me, I’m Lilly, I live over there.”

“Yeah, I saw you come out and wanted to say hello. Sorry if I scared you. Are you preparing on going to the High School here?” Lilly’s face fell at the mention of school.
“Oh? Yeah I guess I’ll be joining 6th form in a day or two. Mark wants me to begin as soon as I can.” Seeing Jon’s confused face she swiftly added, “Mark’s my dad, I’ve just usually referred to as him by his initial name. Will I see you there?”

Jon laughed.
“Uh almost certainly not, I’m turning 21 in some months time.” Lilly blushed and mentally kicked herself, she knew he wasn’t in high school anymore just from what he looked like.
“Oh yeah, obviously. Nicely, I’ll see you in a couple of days time, when I’ve began school maybe.”
“Sure.” He replied, and with a word of goodbye he disappeared back into his house.
